Nia in the North offers a much needed sanctuary from the pressures of the everyday world. Rosy invites you to listen to the voice of the body and deep rooted parts of you into the dance -- with yourself, in the class, in your life, and beyond where consciousness lives.

Our journey here is long and a neat time to be alive.
Yet we struggle to surrender when we feel we are alone.
During a time of chaos and stress look around we are everywhere.
Ask to walk aside, along, and beside, we can rise together, even when we fall alone.
It truly is a great time to be alive.

Why do we fall ill?

Most of the time, most of us believe we know the answer to this question. Some illness comes from infection, viruses, bacterium; some to the breakdown of proper functioning of some organ in our body; some to a deficiency or excess of some crucial hormone, enzyme, or other chemical we need to be healthy. Science also tells us today that genetics play a role in illness. We also know that our environment causes many diseases, such as a bad diet, too much saturated fat, work place chemicals, unhealthy habits like smoking, and destructive behaviors.

All of the above have one thing in common and that is our belief system which says our physical symptoms of illness have physical causes.

All causes of our illness and health depend on “the power of thought”. Our thoughts shape our life.

The New York Times published an article about oncologist, Dr. Robert Buckman, who heard about a spectacular cancer treatment while listening to a lecture given by Dr. Bernie Seigel, author of "Love Medicine and Hope", the story goes like this…

Dr. Seigel spoke of two oncologists chatting about a study they were participating in to test a combination of four chemotherapy drugs, which had the initials EPHO.

One doctor’s patients were doing spectacular; three quarters of them were responding to the drugs. However, only a quarter of the other doctor’s patients were improving. Then the first doctor explained that he had simply rearranged the letters of the drugs so they spelled HOPE.
